The blog that gave us these excellent French matches from the 1950s and 1960s has now reached the mid 1980s and the difference is stark
One of the best both as a wrestler and a friend. Eddie Rose
Tommy Mann is this week's Heritage addition
Another Tommy Mann match on You Tube versus Luc Sraub. This time he is interviewed and we get to hear him speaking in French
Claude gives Tommy an audible on the ropes and basically turns and puts his own hand up his back in the hammerlock. Tommy was great to watch and the French lad matched him all the way. Thank you for the post(s) guys.
surely they would be booked for a week or so at various venues.
A fascinating article. In this era how would the wrestlers travelled to Paris?Flights were expensive and the rail/ship was a long trip from Manchester.
It's good to have you back on the forum Eddie. Hope you're keeping well.
For anyone who missed it Eddie's latest piece on Heritage is Wrestlers and Car Travel
Tommy never mention this to me.
The French commentator tells us he is a former American Champion but from the A-Z it seems doubtful he ever went to America
Tommy: a very good friend of ours in early 60s. We just loved his restaurant (Club Roma) in Manchester, Top wrestler too. Eddie Rose(Manchester)
Great post.Thanks.
Thanks Peter. What another great find. A hard match, I thought the poorest bit was the ending when Mann seemed to propel himself out of the ring
Tommy Mann-Hard man , good champion.
