Tony Rico, Rico Morales, Rico the Gladiator

I would like to ask if someone has any information about this guy. He wrestled in the mid 90s in the uk either as Tony Rico, Rico Morales or Rico the Gladiator. In 1997 he was at the last ever Heumarkt tournament in vienna as Rico the Cuba. I wonder if he is still with us and if anybody here knows his real name or heritage. Thank you

I found very little about him on wrestlingdata.com He made his debut in 1991 . Real name unknown .

I have seen him listed as coming from "Havana, Cuba", and his first matches appear to be in Florida, where there is a large Cuban contingent, so maybe he is from Florida and his family is originally from Cuba?

He wrestled for All Star Wrestling, in the UK, so we would need someone on here who still attended wrestling matches in the UK, late 1990's, to maybe shed some more light on this.

He was here in November 1994 at both Liverpool and Kings Lynn. described as a heavyweight from Florida and indeed known as The Gladiator. May have come over with Bastion Booger and Scott Border.

Yes it was Sax, he also wrestled as Makhan Khan and as Norman the Lunatic. He came over in 1994 for All Star after working the German circuit for a couple of months

@Powerlock Thanks for confirming, Powerlock. I remember in the late 80's, when WCW matches were shown at around 2am, midweek, on Central TV (I could pick up Central, Tyne Tees and Yorkshire TV, back in those days) and Mike Shaw was playing Norman the Lunatic. Some ridiculous story of him breaking out of a mental asylum and getting a job as a professional wrestler.....the sort of thing that leaves you shaking your head, thinking, "why on earth would you come up with a character that only a 7 year old would believe is real?"

It was a tag team match, and when he was tagged in, for the first time, the commentator said "and here he is, Norman the Lunatic, the big man with limited intelligence".

I just laughed!
