I have a collection of Torquay area bills in a gallery , but they are more modern Dale Martins stuff , late 1950's going through the 1960's at the Town Hall.
At last I may have found the earliest Wrestling (1935) the promoter , and then Harry Williams (1936) who got wrestling going in Exeter. The Scala Sports Hall had done boxing from the late 1920's with crowds of about a thousand. The Scala was also used as a Roller Rink.

Through the 1950's The Town Hall was used. Seating for 1200 with an extra 300 on the balcony.
One little gem I have found is yet again Jackie v Mick in 1958. Think I have them at least 14 times in 1958 alone. Not top of the bill nor did the bout seem to be exploited as one of a series of grudge contests.
Just a bit of history.
