Despite many wrestlers being very friendly which wrestlers were consistently unfriendly.? I always found Marty Jones unfriendly to fans. Complete opposite of Rocco and Finlay who always seemed very friendly and never rude
Fair enough. While I respect your opinion I really dont feel use of the word 'Arse' is exactly out of control language in this day and age and i certainly wasnt refuring to Marty, it was a reference to anybody in the public eye who behaves badly to their fans.
- it's a bit of a leap from being seemingly unfriendly for a moment to being an Arse. Out of control language.
- as you say Frank, maybe he was having a bad day. Not fair to list him here with that being a permanent characteristic.
- who the hell knows what sort of requests and comments were being made at him? Insults? "It's all fixed"? A fleeting judgment needs to be taken in context.
- it was all 40 or 50 years ago - do we really need this?
- any contact we had outside the ring was extra. We should judge them on their work.
- I saw Marty Jones at a Reunion and he was great - as they ALL were.
I have had my own off days but wouldn't want my whole character decimated on that basis.
This thread just isn't for me and gets near the accepted gentlemanly boundaries of our self-regulation.
Its fair enough Anglo. If your going to go into a proffession that involves interaction with the general public then best learn how to conduct yourself with some class. Its a lot easier to be nice than to behave like an Arse and if you do choose to be an Arse then you deserve to be outed. Maybe Marty was just having a bad day, we all get a bit short tempered sometimes but if its part of your job then you learn to keep in under wraps unless of course youre being pushed too far. It'd take a brave man to push Marty too far! 😨
That's disappointing to hear as Marty was a top draw wrestler. Never met an unfriendly wrestler although I did witness Vic Faulkner refuse an autograph to a kid of around 10 or so. Vic was in a rush and couldn't possibly spare the three seconds it would have taken … Met plenty of unfriendly musicians and actors over the years when I worked at the BBC, Meg Ryan was so awful it was funny. Sylvester Stallone and Tom Hanks were two of the biggest names I ever met and both couldn't have been nicer! Stallone stopped to chat, sign autographs and pose for pictures for ages. Excuse the name dropping.

Harsh topic.
