I think most on this site, but not all, have been used to the Mountevans style but did anybody see any of the other styles, particulary live? I watch the American style from time to time but only on tv.Enjoyed this when it was seventies stuff but not the modern day stuff. The Japanese wrestling on YouTube, particulary NOAH I found very watchable. Lucha Libre did nothing for me.Would imagine there are plenty of other styles I've never seen Your opinions please.

Mount Evans Style, late 40s early 50s.
Always enjoyed the style of wrestling at the European Tournaments in Austria and Germany. Seemed more "All in" and the use of a gong rather than a bell was novel particularly when the wrestlers used it to choke each other!
I enjoyed the first few years of Ring of Honor, the standard of wrestling in the 1990s at All Japan women's wrestling was superb and left most male dominated promotions far behind in the skills and innovative talent and booking. They are well worth a look at on YouTube.
NOAH was a favourite of mine as well. Hard hitting, some high spots and technical/submission wrestling.
Modern wrestling does nothing for me. It's non-stop high spots.
US Wrestling into the 80's was ok.
But nothing, and I mean nothing, is a patch on Golden Era British Wrestling.
