It didn't feature in Joint Promotions during the Golden Age either on television or on any of the JP bills I saw around that time. Some Independents advertised women's bouts but many of them has issues with local councils not allowing it. It is a no win situation as back in the day if you confessed to being a fan you would have been called depraved but now if you say you didn't like it you would be described as sexist and worse. I only saw it once around twenty years ago on some wretched promotion at our local leisure centre which was made up of WWE clones and third bout in was two girls. I have to say that on that night the women were far more skilful than their male counterparts.
Thanks guys, Sounds like its worth a look. Cheers for the advice Adrian, I have a feeling Princess Paula passed away a few years go but again this could be my mind playing tricks on me, sad if she did as she couldn't have been very old.
Well Frank , I never saw any so I can't say how good it was. Thinking back to BBC Timeshift and Klondyke Kate I find that she was headlining here after the T.V.era. Notice "plus Marty Jones"
I find that amazing. Was that really good for business. Was that what wrestling had become.
Or had women's wrestling become totally accepted and proved a well balanced show.
Saw some ladies matches on All Star cards featuring Sweet Saraya amongst others, on the whole decent enough matches, have watched some of the Japanese women's promotions, look for the Egg Dome shows I would rate 2 as the best, not a bad match over the whole card and its a card that lasted around 5hours.
June Byers takes on the very tough, and almost as good,Penny Banner....Womens World Champ wins
