I think after many months I have actually managed to get back on line. The reference however is not to me but to Peter Stanley, Watching an old black and white film The Blue Parrot in one sequence in a cafe there is a poster for Assirati v Wonderboy. The second match is Spenser Churchill and Guy Lombardo. I couldn't find Wonderboy on the Heritage site and Mike Hallinan tells me he was Peter Stanley who fought Assirati on a number of occasions. Anything more known about him?

About two thirds the way through. It is on the left of the screen. Sorry but I have deleted it. The film was set in London so I would think the poster must be for Blackfriars.
Wonder at what point in the film the wrestling bill was , I haven't spotted it.
Wonderboy worked with Assirati in May 52 at both Brighton and Blackfriars.
Think the film was set in London was it not.
Probably would have been shot the year before release I would imagine.
Think he worked as a "Face" as he beat Charlie Scott on a DQ.
They also gave him a K.O. win over Don Steadman , the other Eastbourne bill both Peter Stanley and Black Kwango had to be substituted on the night.
Deakin for sure had a short career due to injury.
Thanks Ron. That helped me find a few more. Wonder Boy b McMasters at Newcastle, and beat Scott by DQ at Aberdeen. I found a few more results from 1953, still not a lot though.
In 1958 Peter Deakin is billed as Wonder Boy.
Here we go chaps , we have a description of him here and also his Wonderboy Moniker.
Help Bernard........This is Prime for You
And another at Aberdeen
Good spotting on the film James. IMDB lists the movie as being made in 1953. I can only see one result for him that year. The Assirati matches look to have taken place in 1952. Hope Ron's digging will uncover some more lineups or results.
Black Butch Johnson? Black Kwango? What's this Alf Garnett promotions?
James , very strange that I should pick him up four time in 1954 and then not at all.
Twice at Liverpool (Opponents Emile Poilve and Francis Gregory), but a clue that sometimes he was London and sometimes billed Watford.
Here he is at Eastbourne.
