Unbeknown to the Sceptics the Sport of Wrestling is a Dangerous Caper
The risk of Injury-sometimes very Serious is ever present!
One of the Worst Ring Damages befell BARTELLI in 1956 when an accidentally
mis-timed move left him with a BROKEN NECK!!
Out of the Ring for over 6 Months-his Return-after Surgery-found him at least
2 Inches SHORTER in Height!!-Incredibly he chose to continue Wrestling!!
It is also rumoured that THE GHOUL was 'hospitalised' thru Injury and out for
over 6 Months also in the mid '50's!!
And of course we know of KELLETT and ROCCO with their multiple Back Injuries!
Which other Wrestlers can you name who overcame Serious Injury to return to Battle??
MAIN MASK
Seem to be more car crashes than the in-ring injuries Main Mask has been asking for.
Just goes to show, all those thousands of miles the wrestlers drove each year increased their likelihood of being involved in a road accident. Mick McManus's was one of the most famous in about 1967, after which he always had a driver.
In true wrestling style, even the most famous in-ring injury of them all, Masambula's, was staged!!! Got to love this game.
Tibor got a bad eye injury from Nagasaki, but small beer by comparison with the above.
Al Miquet was in a serious car crash and out for a few months about 1970.
Peter LaPaque was out for a long time after the car crash that killed Tommy Lorne. Could we count Danny Collins in this category - didn't he lose a kidney?
Norman Walsh had a bad car crash and was out for quite a while.
Ernie Baldwin broke his leg but had to retire.
