Hi Hack, don't know of any arrangements between Don and Max, it was i think just when Don was packing up the wrestling side of his ventures, and Max after trying to run a few shows at the Grand Hotel ballroom was in the right town at the right time. Max also ran a few shows at the Opera House in Scarborough which was owned by Don, and these would be just before he started at the Ocean Rooms i think. Both Don and Toma would turn up at the venues together, and i thought Don looked like a real business man, with Toma as his right hand man. Toma was a favourite of mine as he was top of the bill on the very first live show i saw in 1967 at St. James Hall in Chesterfield, and yes you have guessed correct, he was on with Klondyke Bill.
