From Les Wright in Nottingham to me: Pierre Latour.. was Peter Jordan from Nottingham..he was highly educated and became a plastic Surgeon.. Les We met up in Nottingham and I took him up to my Gym.. where, with his medical knowledge he gave the guys a lot of information about rights and wrongs of self medicating (Steroids etc.). Very helpful for the guys..

Good morning I will tell you what I know------------whether you choose to publish it is up to you Pete Smith lived in Beech Avenue, Newark and did an odd bout or two for Jack Taylor when Jack's shows were starting to get less and less lucrative because a good percentage of his bills consisted of youngsters and girls. Jack suggested to Pete Smith that he (Pete) put a snow on in Newark, which had been a real good earner for Jack years back. Anyway Pete put a show on atthe Grove Centre, Balderton, about 2 miles from Newark and fought Tony Cortez for some title or other and became the Champion. Pete didnt last very long promoting and I dont know how long his wrestling career lasted. Probably Jack would give him a bit of work at some smaller halls. Mick Collins told me that Pete got sent to prison for killing his wife !! I have no idea if he is still alive---------if he is, I would think he is still living either in or near Newark

Jack Taylor at one time, 1970's I would suggest, had money troubles and changed his ring name to Guy De John and grew a beard This scenario lasted about 6-9 months, then he moved from Leicester to Enderby and fought under his own name again and started promoting again

I understand that Pete Smith got sent to jail for killing his wife Sadly Gypsy Smith committed suicide----------he was a school caretaker and lived in Kettering

Jack promoted for years at Boston, Lincolnshire, where I live------started going to his shows about 1961--------------they were absolutely great, but as you say above, once he brought the younsters in, the crowd trailed off a fair bit----then he followed with the women, that killed it for him in Boston Bill Clarke took over presenting wrestling at the same hall and did very well for quite a few years
