By the venues listed it looks like a regional competition I certainly don't think it's of any prestige it's mid to late 1950s to early 1960s by the looks of the bill, I would be interested to see if St James Hall actually held a heat for this 'tournament'.
my favorite part is - if singh loses 10 pounds were going to be distributed among spectators, speechless, simply wow !!!!
I am not sure if it's related or not...but during that time Assirati was still called - BRITISH AND BRITISH EMPIRE CHAMPION, whatever that means.
The name Tom Bury has a ring, but I can't find anything on him. Ron Baird definitely never heard of him.
it says - eliminating contest, does anyone know who was the holder or winner of that trophy/title?
I never saw Ajit (Adjit) Singh (Different spelling on bills),but I saw the other boys except 2 local boys, one on each bill.
Ron Baird billed from Northumberland and Tom Bury billed from Choppington where Dave Armstrong used to be billed from.
Does anyone know anything about these two? Neither in the A-Z.
