Most Wrestling Shows in this Country during the Golden Age Featured 4-Sometimes 5-
Bouts! The Big Extravaganzas could comprise of 6 or 7!
But now and again the odd Wrestling Bill only staged just 3!!! Contests!!!
Was this really Value for Money?-Did Anyone attend a Show with ONLY 3 Contests??
What do we think?-If extending the rounds to 10 x 5 Mins. each and having them all
conclude in the 10th Round!-Could this justifiably FILL the Night properly?
MAIN MASK
I was surprised to see this programme from Main Mask. A three match show from Wolverhampton Civic Hall, a regular venue with usually four matches.
Why should they have a three match show on a Saturday, wrestling usually being on a Tuesday, fortnightly.
Delving a bit further I found this was a televised show. Now my usual experience was that a televised show would have five or six matches, to be broadcast either on consecutive Saturdays or a Saturday followed by the Wednesday evening. Yet this time there was no adjoining televised show so three matches it seems to be. I wonder if fans booking for the previous regular show were given free tickets for this one off three match bill?
Yes you could run a three bout show with 4 wrestlers.
2 singles and a tag.
At Pontins the Blue coats would provide Mc and Ref and Timekeeper.
Members of the audience acted as seconds and holiday makers like myself would help take the ring down afterwards.
Quite a few of the smaller holiday camps had three bout shows as sometimes the guys could be working 3 times a day if camps weren't too far apart
