Main Mask sent in this poster from Belle Vue which has created a mystery - for me anyway.
The first thing that struck me about this bill was that apart from Alan Armstrong, Juggernaut, Haystacks and a Death Angel on the independents I have not heard of any of these wrestlers. My interest started to wane in the mid 1970s, went to my last show 1978 or 1979 but looked in on the tv until the 1988 finish.
Saturday 15th May was either 1976 or 1982.
Surely this wasn't 1976 or I would know them. Even 1982 I would have expected to know the names.
Then came the real mystery. On 5th December, 1981, Belle Vue had celebrated it's last ever show, with Jack Pye leading a procession of old stars.
So, did wrestling return after this "final" show? When did it finish. And information please about the wrestlers on this bill.
Just a quick comment - not really about wrestling - but the star of "Send In The Girls" was Annie Ross (sister of Jimmy Logan) who lives in and still performs in New York. Some three or four years ago she performed at Ronnie Scott's for a handful of nights and I booked a table right at the front to see her. It was a fabulous evening.
I was equally fooled until I read Main Mask's reply. for all the same reasons. I also ceased going in 1978 and looked in on T.V.
Aah, I didn't realise. thank you.
The Death Angel on the independents appeared towards the end of 1978, presumably cashing in on the tv programme.
There really was an Alan Armstrong wrestler.
Er......Hack.....this is a "fake" poster ("Fake News" as Donny Trump likes to say), it is the one that was made for the Brian Glover TV play, "The Wild Bunch", (from the "Send in the Girls" TV series) look at the clip, watch from about 1 minute 10 seconds, and then at 1 minute 13, the poster shows up.

Yes HACK!- This is the 'Fictional' Poster from BRIAN GLOVER'S I.T.V. GRANADA SHOW-
'SEND IN THE GIRLS'-which was recorded in 1978 and included the one and only time
KENDO NAGASAKI Spoke in Public!-prior to recently of course!
It revolved around a PROMO for a New Brand of Cigarette-'Wild'-all of which was staged at KINGS HALL
-with some great Stars of the day and some great behind-the -scenes Footage!
The 'Other' Wrestlers on the Bill were played by JOHN ALLAN-JIMMY BREAKS and BRIAN MAXINE!
Of course KENDO played DEATH ANGEL!
I have it on Disc and think it's still on You Tube!!
