By the mid 1980's Heavyweight Wrestling in this Country was in decline-Houses
were dwindling and most of the Top Men in the Sport were gone by then!!
The DADDY CIRCUS continued to damage and degrade the Heavyweight Ranks-
KENDO had gone-BARTELLI was all but Retired-ROACH 'gave up' the Heavyweight
Title!...So Promoters were up against it to provide Anyone 'Credible' to draw back the
Fans with only QUINN as a believable true heavyweight really!
What was needed they decided was a NEW INVINCIBLE MASKED MAN!!
So at 6' 7" enter THE EMPEROR!! Billed at 20 Stone he did make a bit of an impact
initially and had a few Scraps with MARTY JONES!
This EMPEROR could Wrestle a bit-was definitely a Baddie like most MASKED MEN
but somehow he didn't quite make the grade for me as a Top MASKED Heavyweight!!
Although it was felt he was 'good enough' to go on Tour in Japan!
If his Character had been better 'Managed'-he might have been more than just 'ordinary'
but he had a huge task to fill the boots of the likes of DOCTOR DEATH and ZEBRA KID!
So BIG BILL BROMLEY didn't become a CAREER MASKED Wrestler but was instead
'mis-used' by Promoters as DADDY Fodder when the Sport was crying out for an injection
of New Life!-This EMPEROR'S 'Reign' was short-lived and SEAN REGAN'S 'NEW'
ZEBRA KID was far more substantial and credible for a HOODED MENACE!!

Again Paul hits another nail that explains wrestling's drastic 1980s fall in popularity. Dire matchmaking that was keen to sacrifice any number of sacrificial lambs to the great God Big D.
