The following article appeared in the November 20th edition of TV Times magazine and was part of their tribute to 25 years of televised professional wrestling.
From a 1975 episode of "Not On Your Nellie" starring the late great Hilda Baker Brian plays battling Bill. His opponent Gilbert "Gorgeous Gilbert" (who never ever spoke in the show) appears to be modelling himself on Ricky Star.
Most welcome 😉The more we share the more we learn. Brian made an interesting point about giving up smoking to continue his wrestling career. Always dumbfounded me to discover particular sports stars smoked, particularly wrestlers and boxers. I never knew until this year that Johnny Saint and Tibor partook of the weed, or as a relation of mine called them " packets of coffin nails." Also last weeks newsletter contained an excellent photograph of Mighty John Quinn and Johnny Kincaid shaking hands, Kincaid with cigarette in hand. U.S. star Pat Patterson with his amazing physique was also a smoker!

From "The Wrestler" July 1962 a profile of Leon/Brian.
"How About That Then!"
Leon Arras the man from Paris according to Kent Walton. Barnsley more like! But great wrestler and actor all the same.
A wee snippet from "The Wrestler" December 1970.
You nearly cocked that up alan😂
Yes, it wasn't cigarettes that Pat Patterson put in his mouth.
Sorry folks that last bit should have read Ken Patera not Pat Patterson.

Superb. Very enjoyable. Especially the bit about Ivan the Monster at Wimbledon.
