Obviously Promoters had to be Savvy when it came to Filling Halls Running a Business
involves being ahead of the Game and of course knowing when to EXPLOIT Sure-Fire
Winners! As well even at well-frequented Arenas KEEPING them full to Capacity was Top
Priority!-So bringing 2 Wrestlers Together who were Both Popular and Excellent Fighters
on a revolving basis as Top of the Bill at the Hall virtually GUARANTEED SELL-OUTS!
THE CIVIC HALL WOLVERHAMPTON was one of the Country's Great Wrestling Venues-
which Witnessed many a Classic Match-and in the early 1960's a Series of Bouts were
Staged between 2 real Favourites-COUNT BARTELLI and NORMAN WALSH!
These Clashes were extremely Popular and had the added 'Thrill' of BARTELLI'S MASK
being 'on the line' too! These Match-Ups between two Men who really Gelled' Together
produced some Epic and Memorable Bouts and Wowed the Crowds over a 3 Year Spell!
BERNARD will remember this Contest-perhaps not at THE CIVIC?- But does Anyone
else remember BARTELLI/WALSH Nites?
Programmes to follow!
MAIN MASK
It would have been a good un Bernard, I agree. I wonder if they ever met in the late sixties when both working for the independents?
