Hi guys! I posted this a week or so ago. It generated some interest, but there was only one comment. I think it's an intriguing picture, so I wonder what do you think the crowd, almost to a man (and woman, those we can see), is looking at, or alternatively, thinking outside the square, can you give it an imaginative caption?

You've aroused Matey Dave, John
Oh look, the eagle has landed.
Time line doesn't quite fit, but I was thinking the announcer may have just informed the crowd, "Ladies and gentlemen, Mr Buddy Rogers is unable to appear tonight, as his plane has been grounded due to inclement weather. We are delighted however, to inform you, his replacement will be, all the way from London England, the recently crowned British and European heavyweight champion, Catweasle"
Smile you're on candid camera

Will someone shut that door? There's a right draft in here.
waiting for the hot dog concession to open
what is interesting is that the audience seems to be unsegregated
Can't think of a caption but it's a great shot that really captures a time when wrestling was big and in the biggest wrestling city of all. Whoever the crowd are looking at it's not Rogers or Eagle - they are already in the ring.
O K John. When is that ice cream seller coming out?
As I enlarge their faces I can't see any smiles.
This tells me wrestling was considered straight and this was along the lines of a boxing event (but bigger.)
I was anticipating a fun caption, as we have no evidence of what the real 'reason' was?🤗
They are obviously waiting for the top of the bill wrestler to enter the ring.
