Watching the excellent 1956/ 1957 matches from France that are now on You Tube I have noticed some of the wrestlers failing to beat the count. This does not end the match but is regarded the same as a first fall or submission. Potentially there could be two count outs in one match. Was that ever the case here in that era?

The 1930s had a wide range of rules with matches similar to todays Ultimate Fighting all the way to ultra clean almost amateur contests. Not surprising wrestlers would be unaware of rule changes!
For a time in the 1930s a count out was equal to a fall. In the Years of Wrestling series you will find a change over and disputes of wrestlers unaware the rule of a move to one count out had changed.
