I remember Dave Larsen from the early to mid 1960's when he was a key member of the Paul Lincoln wrestling squad. His good looks made him a natural blue eye and fan favourite plus he had the wrestling skills to readily disptach the heels from a rather truncated but still effective Lincoln team of wrestlers. His bouts with such admirable heels as Tiger Bright and Steve Haggerty always ended in a popular victory but against Docker Don Steadman he found it tougher going although I do recall him prevailing after a disqualification. Dave was also a first rate tag team wrestler teaming up with Judo Al Hayes or Bob Kirkwood as a member of the White Angels. Amazing to think this was around sixty years ago but still retains happy memories, Dave Larsen will not be forgotten.
Hi Adrian, in one interview, Dave Larsen said there were three White Angels, just so they could make sure they covered all the dates they had booked, in various parts of the country. I think it was Dave, Bob and Judo Al. There were probably more than that!
He was on my first live wrestling bill back in the simme rof 1963,opposing The Beast (Farmer Ed Bright under another name) for Paul Lincoln at Ryde Town Hall, IW.
Yes SW.He married Stephanie Blythe the world class mezzo who appeared at Covent Garden and the Met in New York. Apparently they met. when he was playing a non singing role at the Opera in Paris.
I saw him both in London and Paris. He was a good blue-eyes here and in Paris as Batman but also in a maskas the villainous Zarak in Paris.
I was saddened to hear this news. Dave has been a Heritage member for some time but resisted all our attempts to allure him to tell more.
He was on the first wrestling show I watched. He was in the tag match, partnering Martin Robson (still with us) against The Wildman of Borneo and Lord Bertie Topham. Of the four matches on the bill (Main event was Mike Marino v Crusher Verdu) this was the one that engaged an eleven year old. I was hooked.
He was the first of the Paul Lincoln men to appear on tv (against Sean Regan) following the merger. That was an exciting day for me after I'd rushed for the TV Times.

Docker Dave Larsen? He must have worked with Docker Don many many times. I wonder if both really were dockers?
RIP Dave Larsen.
Was it Dave who married an opera singer?
Long career....RIP Dave Larsen
So another takes his part of wrestling history to his grave. R.I.P. Batman.
