It's the anniversary of the birth of the one and only Dirty Dominic Pye, born in Doncaster on 28th June, 1928.
When Heritage launched in 2007 Dominic was one of the first wrestlers to be celebrated in our Shining Stars section. Read about Dominic and his famous family.
remember going to blackpool tower on a monday night to see jack and dominic pye. gentle giants. used to see dominic in the casinos round blackpool. happy days. gone but not forgotten,
As promised, here's the Dominic Pye poster from my collection. Year is 1962. It also features Big Mike McGurn, who has been a recent topic on this site.
Hi Hack, I moved to Welwyn Garden City in December 1956, so I wouldn't have seen Dominic in those bouts.
Why do you think that there was such a big gap between him starting and visiting Newcastle? Any ideas?
I have a Dominic Pye poster I need to share with this site.
Thanks Hack. I must have missed them, getting tired by then.
Newcastle
How about 7th September, 1957, beat Hassan Ali Bey 2-1?
Or 21st September, 1957, lost to Sandy Orford 2-1.
He even went to America Bernard. He must have really not liked Newcastle Brown.

Bernard , for Dominic Pye I can do you Cornwall , Hamilton , Dundee and Durham. Birmingham also but it looks like he was very North West orientated.
Thanks MM. Then why not showing in Newcastle? any ideas?
Something bugging me here.
As some of you know I would have loved to see Dominic, but never did.
If Dominic was appearing on Morrell bills, i.e. fighting The Ghoul etc., why did he never come to Newcastle which surely was one of Morrells top arenas.
Can someone please tell me if Dominic appeared on bills away from Doncaster or Blackpool. i.e. did he travel?
Was this the reason that he never came to Newcastle?
Did he ever appear in Scotland for example?
I have checked the bills for St James Hall from 1/1/51 to 1/1/58 but no Dominic.
Help please.
Of course not. Dominic would be disqualified.
But can DOMINIC PYE Defeat The Sinister GHOUL??
