For those who knew Allstar and WCW undercard wrestler Doc Dea. He sadly passed away today at the age of 48. I know him best for his tag work with Robbie Brookside and from Robbies Video Diaries. He has lived in the States since 1998 but managed one appearance on the old WOS televised shows.
RIP Ian Doc Dean.
I don't want to hijack Doc Dean's obituary page but a wrestler called Ian Dean did do a handful of bouts for Martin Conroy/Eric Wilson under the Wryton banner. Surely someone out there will remember him also.
Bobby Ryan retired in 1982 when Doc Dean was 12 therefore I do not think the Ian Dean Graham saw was Doc Dean
Report in The Liverpool Echo
Apologies for my earlier spelling mistake. I saw the young Ian Dean at The Gaiety Theatre in Rhyl.
One of the first wrestlers IN the new satellite era with Screensport as well as the tail end of World of Sport
RIP Doc Dean, terrible news
Jayne "Klondyke Kate" Porter, with whom Doc Dean fathered a child (whom you may remember from both her Raging Belles docu and Robbie Brookside's video diary) is running a fundraising campaign to pay to bring Doc's body back home to Liverpool for burial.

The British Wrestling scene is alive, vibrant and flourishing. Ian “Doc” Dean was one of the amazing guys that paved the way for today’s style and was an awesome athlete and showman He passed away yesterday (14th August 2018) aged 48 years old in his home in Florida. Originally from Liverpool his family and friends reside in the U.K. My son is his next of kin and it is his duty and responsibility to arrange for the Doc’s body to be flown back and for him to be buried in his beloved Liverpool. The Doc was uninsured and recovering from several back and neck injuries, mostly old wrestling injuries and after several surgeries he was unable to return to his job. Loved by many, respected as an amazing wrestler I ask all of you in the wrestling world to help us to bring him home to his family. We are a proud family and it has took a lot to ask for help. But we are broken-hearted and want him home to be buried where we knew his heart was. For anyone who can help our son and myself thank you from the bottom of our heart.
Klondyke Kate.

On Wryton shows I recall seeing a young wrestler called Ian Dean; I saw him versus "Tug" Wilson at Belle Vue during the latter's spell as matchmaker and also at Rhyl's Gaeity Theatre against Jack Robinson and BobbyRyan respectively. I assume that Ian Dean became Doc Dean.
It's certainly a young age to die. My father died at the same age. I was barely a teenager.
This is terrible news, and at such a young age.
R.I.P. Doc Dean

As Hack said we expect to hear of ex wrestlers passing away at a good old age,but too die at such a young age is both shocking and tragic. R.I.P. Doc Dean
ITV match against the man who ended his second British Welterweight title reign six years later, Steve Prince. A very young Lee Bamber as MC.
That is a shock. I remember Doc wresting against Funaki in Peterborough when he was very young. Thoughts are with Adam. Sapper James.
Very shocked and saddened to hear this, even though he's been out of the game for 20 years now. Twice former British Welterweight champion, one half of the Liverpool Lads with Robbie Brookside, a charming elfin blue-eye and a vicious bratty heel (such as in France circa '92 for Eurosport's New Catch.) Already in his early teens he was teaming with Robbie at the holiday camps (there is early camcorder footage of a tag match pitting them against Sandy Scot and Carl McGrath from 1984.) He and Robbie even got a WCW career, albeit as little more than jobbers.
I heard about this via Robbie Brookside on Twitter. Apparently suffered a massive heart attack overnight. Far too young 😢
Goodness gracious. This is shocking news Paul. We are far too familiar with reporting deaths on this site. Yet that's to be expected as most of the wrestlers we celebrate here are now into their twilight years. But 48 years old. So sad.
