We heard from one of our most valued and reliable members this morning that Sam Betts, forever Dwight J Ingleburgh, died last night. He was hesitant to make the announcement without further confirmation as it seemed so unbelievable despite Sam's age. Sadly, it has now been confirmed and Brian Betts (yes these wrestlers always surprise, his name was Brian) has died, aged 90. R.I.P. Dwight
Sam loved his allotment and was still gardening upto last year.

RIP dear Sam iv left this late because it's hard to believe he was always there,a consumate professional remained fiercely his own man.Jack Atherton said of him he's a diamond and jack and wryton courted him to the joint ranks to no avail. His family so proud of him and rightly so he had it all skill personality integrity and work ethic
sad news. rest in peace in champ. I treasured your facebook friendship.
A grand send off for Sam. Many of his wrestling colleagues were in attendance, including Les Prest, Jimmy Devlin, Dale Storm, Jim MCCormack, Bruce Welch, John Mitchell and Brian Lord.
RIP old friend from years ago. One of the very best of wrestlers and a great friend. Eddie Rose.😥

Only just found out RIP Sam a wondeful man
R.I.P Sam, it felt like he was always going to be around, so sad, Sam you'll be missed.
Sad news indeed. We would always chat together at the Blackpool reunions, where his story telling’s were next to none. I still have a DVD of an interview he gave at one of the reunions, which kept all of us watching laughing in stitches.
R.I.P. Sam
RIP Sam. Was lucky to chat with him via the computer. Had a great memory of people and places.
Very sad news indeed. Although Sam was 90 years old this news still came as a shock. A generous, kind-hearted man with immense knowledge of wrestling. He will be greatly missed by his many friends.
RIP Sam.
I was Lucky Enough to Meet and Chat with SAM at a Couple of BLACKPOOL Reunions!
A Lovely Man-and what struck Me was his Candid Honesty when Discussing Professional
Wrestlers and Wrestling!!-He brought a Wealth of Knowledge and Experience to the
Reunions and a Fascinating Insight into the Sports Characters and Personalities-for
example when Recalling his Memories of BERT ASSIRATI and Others!!
Another Sad Loss!
Find Peace Now SAM!!
