I was chatting at the bar at Wilmslow Conservative Club in Wilmslow yesterday to fellow member Nigel (Ford) Dunlop and he mentioned your love of wrestling and, when you worked together, how he would get together groups to watch the wrestling. He vividly recalled you organising a trip to Stockport Town Hall to see The Undertaker. I assume it was Jake's lad rather than Mark Calloway. Regardless, he shared many happy memories.
@grahambrookjazz -Yes GRAHAM-I Worked with NIGEL for many years!-He's a Top,Top Bloke!
His Memory is slightly awry though on this example!-We went to STOCKPORT TOWN HALL to see KENDO NAGASAKI! I took virtually the Whole Store-Wives too-All Front Row seats!
It was funny in parts as all the Girls thought Wrestling was namby-pamby-Slapping the other Guy! You should have seen their Faces when the Wrestlers actually HIT each other HARD!!
Just the NOISE of the Blows scared them!-And then when one was thrown over the Top Rope
virtually landing on top of them-Their 'Reaction' was Hilarious!!-'OOHH' they said we thought it was just pat-a-cake stuff!!
NIGEL'S Recall of THE UNDERTAKER was that upon my Entrance to the Store or Office I'd get
'TAKER'S Funereal Gongs to play on my Arrival!!-They All knew Who was coming! Great Fun!!
You may not know GRAHAM-but NIGEL is an Ace DARTS PLAYER-Regular 12 Dart Check Outs!-The kind of Guy who really Bugs you-he's that Good!-I vividly remember Challenging him
(when I'd had quite a few Pints!) to DARTS HEAD-TO HEAD TOURNEY!!
The Deal was £50 a side-If I could beat him TWICE in a 50 Leg Match-(obviously played over
several sessions!) 'Twas a Fair Purse in those Days!-Unbelievably-to me as well-I WON the 7TH
Leg!-This meant he could not afford another Loss! He started playing seriously and I was just
hammered for a couple of dozen more Legs! Then a 'Miracle' happened somehow I managed to Win the 43RD Leg!!-I had to be held up in Shock!-NIGEL is SO Good he once Beat JOHN LOWE-a Former WORLD DARTS CHAMPION!!-Great Times! Next time you see him-Please Give him My Best!-Ask him to give me a Call for Another Challenge-This time for my POOL
Championship of the Universe!!
Also GRAHAM-as we are so close-it would be Great to meet up with you for a good old Chinwag on the Wrestling!!?
Be Careful at the Con. Club-suddenly you may hear UNDERTAKERS GONGS heralding the
@adrianpollard.shangri-la Has he mentioned that he used to play darts! He is always talking about it. Snooker and bowls are his sports at the club. I'll listen out for the gongs.

Dear Main Mask, could you please check in your collection if you have this issue of the Wrestling Review? I would highly appreciate that. Thanks, Russian Concussion.
For a long time I was trying to find out who was that man with the belt from this photo. I was asking people around (that's what I usually do) and received quite a few different answers. Meanwhile I continued my research. And finally success. Man on this photo is the legend of British Amateur Wrestling - The Lancashire Wrestler - Oldhamite Herbert Hall (1926-2013).
I think someone mentioned him recently? Stumbled across this yesterday. https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/vocnation/episodes/2019-12-04T21_02_01-08_00

Here's one from 1960. Still free in those days. The price of 2d was introduced in 1962.
Described as priceless which in some ways has proved prophetic.

I have a bunch of these so grabbed some at random. Turned up a few interesting pictures:
Bigger format by 1966. Also found this "National Edition".
Some later ones, including Wrestlesport. There were also a couple of issues of Skill magazine that Evan put out. Wrestling plus other sports.
Alan Wood Northern Counties Welterweight Champion. Was that title contrived for this article?
Cool RINGSPORTS OST!-Many thanx!!-This is turning into an Interesting Gallery-so when
I get a minute-I'll go up into the Vault and put up some more of mine! In the meantime here's
a HELLS ANGELS Cover for FRANK!-I have 3 different ones for THE ANGELS!!
This from their RED Trunks and RED/GOLD Gladiator Vest Phase!!
I remember ALAN WOOD-My abiding Memory of the times I saw him Live was that he didn't
seem to want to 'sell' his Opponents Moves that much!-Good Wrestler though-on some Bills
he was WOODS!
Also I know this ALAN BAMBER!-apparently he wrote several times for the MAG.-Bet he's got
a few 'Back Issues'!!??
