Looking through various stuff whilst working on my little project ,I came across the unbelievable fact that Mal Kirk held the Welsh heavy title for a short period.Got to be a misprint on this yellowing article or an uninformed writer getting wrong ,however when I recall the writer it becomes curiouser.it was one Charles Mascall. I wondered why I'd kept this piece no mention of Salford fair city, but an article detailing McManus win over Jack Dempsey at the R A H ,then in a few brief lines mucky Mal becomes a Welsh man .

I have an old TVTimes schedule which has Mal Kirk billed from Canada! Possibly Mal had returned to Blighty from a tour of Canada so a misunderstanding emerged.
Aaah, I can see what has happened. This is a collage. See 1957 and 1968 both written on the page.
The Assirati item would have been from even earlier.
That's the first time I've read a write-up on a bout where only one of the wrestlers is named (Kimura.) I wonder who his poor opponent was?
We have seen many times that the Scottish promoters took great liberties in renaming and creatively retitling wrestlers. It's still a very odd choice of title.
I enjoyed reading details of "diminutive" Mick's championship victory. Words like that will have prompted him to get his high heels.
Hi, this is a photo I took from one of Dave Cameron's scrapbooks.
article was sent to me possibly retrospective article about McManus, but didn't read that way,Mal did joint stuff early on prior to 67,iv not mentioned Mals opponent it makes it worse article is 1965 I'll try and upload and trust me not a symptom of too many kicks to the
It's certainly odd. Any chance of posting the article? Charles Mascall died in 1967, which was around the time Mal Kirk came over from the opposition.
I can't see the article.
But I am struggling to comprehend how any article could cover Mucky Mal alongside McManus beating Dempsey: there would have been at least 15 years between these events.
