Female wrestler profiles

There's been some old wrestling videos restored and put on youtube. One of them was Rockin' Sarah Robbins versus Cowgirl Sammy Rodgers from around 1992. Does anybody know anything about these two wrestlers, there seems to be virtually no other footage of either? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4or7fWenV6k

I saw Rockin' Robin live. Errol Flynn but more feminine.

these old-style matches are just sensational. there is no nonsense talking on the microphone beforehand - they don't mess around outside the ring. it's just two skilful wrestlers going at at it. if there are any more videos of these matches I would love to see them

My favourite Viper moment is here, where there has clearly been a feud as to who is the better wrestler. Viper is a clear winner over her male opponent and goes radge when told to release the Boston. One of the few available professional in-ring vids in which girl officially beats guy...

A good while back I started a Girls gallery , to enhance their limited presence on this site. I was quite interested in the pioneer girls from the 1960's , but is is not easy to get any info.

The idea of the gallery was so that any member can add comments to the bills if they know of any snips of info that give us a profile.

A very challenging matter as many did not use their own name , many used two or more names over a career.

The chance is still there if you know when a girl made a debut , if her dad was a wrestler, if her husband was a wrestler , if you know where she was from or who trained her.

Every little bit of info we have between us would tell us so much more if only people would have a go.

Enough info all round could lead to a ladies A-Z.

A 1990 wrestling report in the papers stated that Sarah Robbins was a 14 year old sensation from Blackpool , confirming what Romeo stated. Another report stated she was the youngest pro female at 15 years.

Cowgirl Sammy , I draw a blank.

I really enjoyed watching this!

In the early seventies I did a handful of shows for Halton British Legion and, on one of them, my top of the bill was a tag match in which Adrian Street Esq and "Beautiful" Bobby Barron tagged against the pairing of Pedro the Gypsy and "Romany" Max Raeger. The committee always insisted that I include a ladies' bout on each show and on this occasion it was Blackfoot Sioux versus Gypsy Sarah (Mrs. Street versus Mrs.Barron). I remember Bobby telling me that from that night on his wife Rita nagged him continuously to allow her to be a Red Indian and he eventually gave way and she became Apache Princess.

Anyway, my reason for recounting this is that Rita wrestled initially as Gypsy Sarah because Sarah was her baby daughter. I believe that years later Sarah also became a wrestler at a very young age. I recall seeing a poster billing her as Young Sarah but I have a feeling that Sarah Robbins on the You Tube clip is indeed the daughter of Dave and Rita Shillitoe (Bobby Barron and Gypsy Sarah).

I further think this because I notice that the referee is Liverpool wrestler Woody Waldo who did a lot of work for Barron and that Sammy Rodgers' second is Mike Jessup who for years was Barron's premier gofer.

All of the above is true.I lived next door to Dave and Rita Shillitoe(Bobby Baron) in Blackpool,Clinton Ave Number 41 I think,in 1976/77.We lived at number 43.l remember Sarah being born in 1976.I used to go every sunday to watch Bobby Baron wrestling at the Horse Shoe Show Bar,Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Hi Antony.Information on these women wrestlers is very sparse.Wrestlingdata.com gives Rockin Sarah Robbins coming from Blackpool.No other profile information,however ,there is some footage on YouTube vs Klondyke Kate.Could not find anything on Cowgirl Sammy Rogers.Maybe other members may have more success.

the old visions are coming back. both gladys the impaler and serene virgin of mablethorpe are still with us doing charity work and helping old wrestler with a rub down when needed.
