Good old Les in his pomp can be seen at either pembertons carnival martin conroy home town or possibly pitmans event at Haigh Hall Wigan. its on youtube as childhood memories of Scholes Wigan
Looking at the dress I would have said early to mid 1960s so reckon Bkendos 1965 is probably right. Takes me back to childhood when each church had their own walking day.
1965 seems correct.Kellett looks "younger" than his few You Tube matches from the 1970s.St John the Divine is parish church of Pemberton.Definite link to Martin Conroy
This is definitely in the 1960s.At 5:25 Dr Lawrence Brown is walking in the procession. He was Bishop of Warrington between 1960 and 1969 before moving to Birmingham. This is part of the Whit Walks which took place on the Monday after Pentecost Sunday. This year it is this coming Monday 20 May and a public holiday in many countries. The holday in the UK was moved to the last Monday in May in 1971.The Whit Walks still take place but not with the vast numbers of the era in this film
I thoroughly enjoyed that. I watched it from start to finish. Quality of film made it look like somewhere way before the 70s, but the gals’ fashions seem to say 70s. Seems to me the 70s were just a short while ago, but…oh how time flies!
Yes 1970's Anglo , Flared Trousers were booming. There is the possibility that it's a series of clips with some maybe earlier , but I will go with you circa 1971.
On at about the 8 minutes 43 seconds mark. I am wondering if the opponent was Pete Roberts. No idea of the venue , looks as though they threw a ring up on a brick croft.
Thanks Ron; I had searched without success. Definitely Judo Pete, with the lazy shoulder. I'm guessing the year - and even though they were in full Joint Promotions employment it looks like 1971 to me. Maybe there are clues before and after as to the precise year?

Mixed opinions about the year. Maybe it’s a collage?
