This isn't a good week, and hasn't got any better. Staal du Plessis has informed us that Fred Van Lotter, who wrestled in Britain in the 1960s, died on 4th January in New Zealand..
Fred was a top "heel" and a very tough character indeed who also possessed abundant wrestling skill.I was fortunate to see him live around 60 years ago at the Wimbledon Palais and Camberwell Baths and he always provided wrestling patrons with marvellous entertainment and for some reason was underused by promoters. He is very fondly remembered.

When the new site is up and running hope he will be added to "the Final Count list"
When I began to go to live wrestling Fred was my favourite villain. A great wrestler. R.I.P. Fred.
so so so sad...RIP great champ.
RIP Fred. If I'd known he lived here, I would've tried to make contact.
Here's Fred winning a large KO tournament at the Plaza Ballroom in Guildford, 25 October 1961:
RIP Fred Van Lotter (born 1934 , I think )

Bringing together two who have died this week, this was shared with us a couple of years ago by John Lister.
