Way back in June /July1980 the biggest tag team in a one off Wrestling match were Andre the Giant & Steve Rickard Versus Hillbilly Haystacks & Ripper Collins.
Andre The giant 500lbs & Steve Rickard 264lbs
Versus
Hillbilly Haystacks 601 lbs & Ripper Collins 264 lbs.
This is the biggest Tag Team I can remember entering a NZ wrestling Ring.
What was the heaviest Tag Team to enter a UK Wrestling Ring?
Big Bruno Elrington was again a blue eye at Cardiff's Sophia Gardens Pavillion 1979/1980 where he partnered Seaman Tommy Watts to oppose The Bulk & Anaconda.
Cambridge 29/11/1979 Big Daddy & Chris Adams .v. Giant Haystacks & The Bulk. Haystacks at this point was around 36-38 stones and The Bulk was billed at 40 stones!
You would think that Haystacks and Jake would be a natural tag combination yet this is the first time I have seen them billed together. Were there many other examples of them pairing?
Haystacks and Jake are a fair old weight together!!
I was about to say Klondyke Bill with Jake, but they couldn't match howard's pair.
Giant Haystacks and Scrubber Daly teamed up regularly in the early 1990s. At this point Haystacks would have been billed at 43+ stones and Scrubber 28+ stones.
I was privileged to be the second for Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks on a Max Crabtree TV outing when they faced Kendo Nagasaki and Rex Strong.
I recall a Brian Dixon show at the Champness Hall, Rochdale, where the Dangermen (Steve Haggetty and Colin Joynson) were the unlikely blue eyes against a team comprising of Lincolnshire's Klondyke Jim and Rhyl's Klondyke Bill. Of course, for many years Bill and Jake were the usual Klondyke combination.
it has to be Daddy and Haystacks.
