Currentlay on BBC IPlayer there is an episode ( ep 3, Cheetham/Donaghy) of Heir Hunters that involves the wrestler Billy Joyce and his family. His light-heavyweight belt is shown as is The Wigan Pit and the current owner . Their is also a very interesting back story about how he and his family were involved in a major train crash in 1952.

Notably Mel Riss is shown with two different belts on these photos...on the first photo he's wearing historical Lonsdale Belt from 1909/10 and on the second photo he's holding the Lightweight Morell/Mountevans Belt.
Ernie Riley first winner of the Light Heavyweight Morell/Mountevans Belt.
Because Ernie Riley did not win it first. We now have 3 threads all intertwined.
why no one calls it - ERNIE RILEY BELT ???
Hi Speedy. O.P. is the original poster.
Thanks DJ Mask. I've never watched that programme but it was interesting, apart from the Joe and Bob Robinson connection. Is it my hearing or did Roy Wood really refer to the Mountbatten Belt?
Hi DJ. I hate to see a thread started and no-one with an answer, it is so disheartening to the O.P.
I got onto BBC iplayer , found the episode but could not get it to open.
I will try again tomorrow, time allowing.
