Got let out of hospital tonight, had the knee replacement just over 48 hours ago. It's sore, swollen but I am walking on crutches, can get up and down stairs and have a 90% bend, l am doing physio 3-4 times a day, doped up with painkillers, but glad to be home. YouTube will be getting some hammer over the next week or two. But thank you all for you messages and best wishes. I now have a titanium knee.

Ok, single leg boston is it is. Look forward to the full version.
Very good. You can change your forum name to Dropkick Powerlock!
Splendid news Powerlock.
Well done Power. you will feel better for losing the weight when you get back to running! (No, I can't either.)
I lost 3.5 stones about 3 years ago, and feel a lot better for it.Hips and Knees don't ache either now.
Gone from a Heavy to a Welterweight.
That all sounds good. A bit of a drastic way to lose a stone, but a good bonus.
Hi Hack its pretty good I am ahead of schedule recovery wise. Leg is pretty strong, still have swelling but is much less. I haven't used stick at all since week 4,I am now 8 weeks since op. As long as I am not silly I can do a mile plus a day. I have dropped over a stone. All the physio is focused on stretching the hamstrings now so I will be able to lock my knee. I am nearly there so am hoping to achieve it in next couple of weeks. See the consultant again in July to get the date for the right knee. I will be fine as long as no one pins a magnet to my back or I'll kick myself to death. Cheers for asking
How's it going Powerlock?
Splendid news Powerlock. Sounds like you're really on the up.
a quick update. 19 days since the op 120 degree bend. leg is a lot stronger. staples came out Tuesday. scar is healing well, I am using one stick when out but at home I am walking without support except for the stairs. still have pain but ice packs help and hamstring is a lot better too. normality is slowly being resumed
Thanks again for all good wishes they are very much appreciated. I have passed the 90%bend but have had to leave off the leg straightening exercises for a couple of days as I had a tightness in the hamstring, apart from that generally each day I feel I am slowly improving, the leg has more colours than one of Adrian Streets gowns. The wife's sister said the colour might look nice on a feature wall. So I suggested a trip to B&Q for 'trauma' by dulux. Will have to see what happens next when the physio checks me out Tuesday.
Thanks again
Welcome back Powerlock. A faster return than Vic Faulkner.
Great to see you back Powerlock. Your comments are always appreciated and help to maintain this excellent site.
Just another thought Power! My Brother had a hip replacement a couple of years ago and after a few check-ups got the all clear from the Doctor. My brother then asked him when the next check-up would be due, he replied "If everything is ok and you don't have any problems, then in approx. 20 years! My brother would by then be 100 years old, so he said to the Doctor "Can I make an appointment now"!
Cheers
Glad to see you back Power, leave the knee drops alone for a while
At the moment its gentle physio and pain management,my left leg wouldn't look out of place on an elephant , so lots of ice packs in between physio and catching 40winks when I csn.been told the first two weeks are the worst, we will see. Thanks to you all
Thank you Adrian. back to Power's health now.
I had that kind of extraction too. I think that had better and longer lasting results than the aorta, but even that's doing well at the moment .
Welcome back Power. Glad that all went well. With luck your knee will last all of your life with no problems.
When I had my aorta replaced in January 2004, it was guaranteed for 5 years !
Splendid news Powerlock. Pleased it went well and that you are back in action. I'm sure Main Mask's 100 year guarantee must be a real reassurance. My brother bought something recently and was proudly told it had a 25 year guarantee. He pointed out that as he was 80 "it" might but he didn't.
Glad your back Powerlock, but don't do too much at this early stage!
Cheers
