Went in very early Saturday morning to get the right knee done. Back home tonight tired and in pain. Glad it was done though. The hard work starts now.
Three and a half weeks since the operation, almost 125degree bend, leg still not locking properly but expected in next three weeks weeks or so, quads have responded well to physio and leg lifts are no problem, am walking without sticks now but take one with me when going out, still painful but managing best I can with a mixture of painkillers, ice packs for the joints and warm wheat bags for the muscles. So I am ahead of schedule and looking to getting out and about soon.
Just back from first session at hospital today, decent bend at 110 degrees, within 5% of full lock but quads are taking longer to recover preventing leg lifts so it's a bit mixed but hope to be back on track by next week after concentrating on quad work this week.
started physio today, fairly gentle bending and straightening, ankle rotations and a 60 metre walk on the crutches. sitting watching classic wrestling on you tube and icepacking my knees. more of the same tomorrow. thanks for all the best wishes and encouragement it's much appreciated
I have been able to have short walks daily but seeing we have had the monsoon season in the past week or so it has been curtailed a wee bit.
Good to hear! Its soooo boring being stuck at home recovering, there's only so much TV you can watch and so many books you can read!
