I've just looked Powerlock and can see 29th June 1958 was a Sunday, so I'll stick with my 1959.

I believe he made his debut at Tynemouth in 1958
Yes Powerlock, I've read that many times. Following my interview with Johnny around 1969 I wrote a debut of 1959. Many wrestlers are often unsure of their debut. I find it difficult to put accurate years on my CV these days. I asked Johnny to clear it up a few years back and he said he honestly didn't know whether it was 1958 or 59. Maybe if we looked back at the Tynemouth bills we could hazard a good guess.

A really nice fella. I watched him for the first time in 1965 and he was very impressive then. He wrote to me in the late 60s. Bloomin' 'eck I should have kept that!
Johnny Saint, clean, classy, clever as described by the great Mick McMannus. Fantastic wrestler.
Interesting beginnings and worked in the nightclub scene.
Some of us will remember Kathy Kirby.
