Not very often but now and again Promoters would use the 'Ploy' of using 2 Wrestlers twice
on the SAME Show! On some of these occasions-the Punters were Blissfully unaware that
this was happening because the first Bout would Feature a MASKED Wrestler and later in the Show the SAME Wrestler would be Fighting under his 'Own' Ring Name! An example of
this would be THE BLUE ANGEL and his Alter-Ego-JIM STOCKDALE!!
However rarely the other occasion would Showcase 2 Bouts of a 'Different Martial Code'!!
Most of these would be the Standard Wrestling Bout under MOUNTEVANS Rules and later
down the Card-a Martial Arts Battle between the two-usually JUDO- under the Rules governing that 'Code'!-This was done in the early '60's between PROFESSOR ADIWASSER
and 'JUDO' AL HAYES!
However more latterly we find one of our Very Best HEAVYWEIGHT Stars taking part in such
Bouts-KENDO NAGASAKI!!
On the Show Featured below-KENDO takes on 'JUDO' PETE ROBERTS both in Wrestling AND Judo Matches on the SAME Nite!!
From the Punters point of view 2!! chances to see KENDO Fight-or the same if you were a ROBERTS Fan!- From the Promoters point of view 2 LESS Wrestlers he had to 'field' for the
Evening's Event!!-Everyone's a Winner!!-Except in this example-PETE ROBERTS!!
Did Anyone attend one of these Shows where 2 Wrestlers Wrestled TWICE on the Nite!!

In 1973, at the Ice Stadium, in Nottingham, I saw Kendo take on Billy Howes in a wrestling match and a judo match, the promoters were Morrell Beresford and i think the mc was Ernest Baldwin

Hello 1978 Kid
"When an unbiased history of British professional wrestling is eventually written"
Haven't we got one? 😎
A reflection of the fact that not only was Kendo supremely gifted in the showmanship aspect of professional wrestling, at which he excelled by inventing the greatest persona in the history of professional wrestling, he was also skilled in many genuine combat sports including Wigan style wrestling and Judo.
When an unbiased history of British professional wrestling is eventually written, Kendo will be rightfully acclaimed as the best of the bunch by a long way.
(not that I am biased in favour of Kendo of course!)
Hi MM. Saw this bout at Liverpool Stadium but it was not two seperate contests. The first part had Roberts gaining a fall, then the Judo part followed immediately after and Kendo getting the equalising submission.1-1 draw. All part of the same bout.
The Exotic BLUE ANGEL and his Alter-Ego-JIM STOCKDALE-on the SAME Show!!
