Before KENT WALTON in 1955 and his Commentary Descriptions of Holds/Moves in
Professional Wrestling-Fans mainly relied on the Wrestling Programmes themselves and
also the MAT Magazines-All of which ran Regular Features on the Skills of the Game!
One of the main Instigators of these Articles was NORMAN MORRELL-a Massive Man
of Influence in the Sport!
So Clutching your Programme with its Educational Content you could easily 'check' What
Move a Wrestler was Using on his Opponents!
'Speciality' Moves for certain Wrestlers were Hi-Lited such as THE FARMER's ELBOW
SLAM and the GHOUL's GAROTTE CHOP-and Individual Holds were also Discussed
And Showcased as seen below with the example of the ARM LEVER!
I've dug out some Samples from Early 1950's Programmes to Illustrate 'Know your
Wrestling'!!- Starting with 25!! Holds/Moves on One Page!!

Thanks for the photo. I've only seen him older as a referee.
Don't worry Bernard. I've got the same book as you.
Well, Ostie, when I came across this book years ago, long before we discovered two Conroys this book convinced me Cordite and Chopper were one and the same. Looks like Martin Chopper to me.
PW to Main Mask.
Hi MM. You will get the Moderators after you if you are not careful.
Hi MM. I think that these wall art pictures on caves from Egypt in approx. 3400B.C. May pre-date your promoters' programmes.
