I remember Len Ring from the 1980s doing regular TV commercials here in New Zealand on the safety of looking after your spine when It came to lifting things. I had no Idea he used to be a professional wrestler.
Any Information on his opponents would be much appreciated
Londoner Len Ring was born on 11th May, 1919 and active from 1937 until 1947 with a break during the war years to serve in the army. Having married Polly in 1943 the two of them emigrated to Auckland, New Zealand in 1947.
He trained at the New Zealand School of Physiotherapy, graduating in 1954 to run a physiotherapy practice in Mount Eden, Auckland. He went on to become a Lecturer in Ergonomics at the School of Architecture, University of Auckland and Lecturer in Industrial Handling for the National Safety Council of New Zealand.
A couple of other chaps who settled in NZ there; Leo Lightbody and Dan Davey
A very busy wrestler Robert who started out pre war so maybe older than you think.
Al Lipman a frequent early opponent.
Probably finished in 1947 (see A-Z for more info)
