Bernard has told us stories of Les Kellett as the referee at Newcastle. I don't think anyone else has admitted ti remembering Les as the third man, but here's a photo from 1949

No. He always seemed to be strictly "on the job".
Of course, now I know that some things were pre-arranged, but at the time I didn't see anything like the antics that he pulled when wrestling for DM.
