I have some sad news to announce. Lofty Waterman, who often posted on these pages sadly passed away on July 19 at the age of 72. He had suffered a stroke the week before. Lofty used to be a second and also drove some wrestlers around the country. Anyone who knew him will know that he was a massive fan of the golden age of British wrestling. It seemed that any chat with Lofty wouldn't take too long to get around to mentioning Kendo Nagasaki. Even his FB profile was a photo of Lofty with Peter Thornley, aka Kendo. He leaves behind a widow, two loving daughters and a son.. The photo shows him with Kendo and his daughter Lorraine. Perhaps we should all watch a Kendo match in honour of Lofty and imagine him cheering his favourite wrestler onto another victory.

RIP Lofty I met him on a couple of occasions, but found him a very pleasant man. No doubt he will be telling everyone at that great wrestling venue in the sky what a great wrestler Kendo is.
Very sad news. Another of our small family, gone.
RIP Lofty.

What a good guy , I remember "Keep up the Good work" RIP
What a great shame. Lofty always made interesting contributions and joined in many of our epic voyages of discovery. His own very special way of signing off never failed to bring a smile to my face. Condolences to his family.
Lofty was for a long time a volunteer at Salisbury Hospital, for which he received an award.
The hospital said of him, “Lofty is an outstanding volunteer. He is always reliable and completely dedicated to helping others and nothing is too much trouble. His primary role is to guide at the main entrance, but has volunteered to help with other initiatives such at the staff BBQ and ward evacuation exercises. He is friendly, adaptable and caring and has a massive impact on the hospital and everyone he comes into contact with.”
Yes!-Sorry to Read This!-Although I Never Met Lofty-I Do Know of him!
He Attended a Get-Together at KENDO's Retreat which Unfortunately I Could
Not Make!- He Reached not a Great Age These Days but his Dedication to
BRITISH Professional Wrestling is Renowned!-A Sad Loss Indeed!!

What sad news. Lofty posted on here quite regularly at one time. Every message would end with the reminder, "Keep up the good work. Regards, Lofty" which always made me smile. I met him once at the Kent Reunion. It didn't take long before the subject was Kendo. A Wrestling Heritage friend has left us. Condolences to Lofty's family.
R.I.P. Lofty.
