Another MASKED Wrestler who had a long RUN in the early 1960's was a VILLAIN Clad
from Top to Toe in RED!! Claiming to be the Master of the 'ART of Scientific Wrestling'
this PROFESSOR put together quite a String of Victories! Arriving to the Ring in Academic
Gown and Mortar Board-He proved to be an unusual sight indeed!
The PROFESSOR Wrestled all over the Country from DUNDEE to PORTSMOUTH until
Ill-Health forced him to give up the Ring! He Retired supposedly Undefeated-BUT there has
been a recent TWIST in this TALE!!
In his Book PETER tells of the time that KENDO NAGASAKI came up against this
PROFESSOR in a somewhat Fateful Bout at MALVERN which was supposed to be a
MASK vs. MASK Contest which KENDO would Win! But the Bout DIDN'T go to plan
and THE PROFESSOR was no match for NAGASAKI!-The Crowd were firmly on the side
of the Man Clad All in Red as he was being lambasted! Finally KENDO picked him up and
LAUNCHED him over the Top Rope into the Ring-Side Seaters where he lay Slumped!
There was utter Mayhem in the Audience all aimed at KENDO and after several efforts by
the REF to count the PROFESSOR 'Back into the Ring' He had to complete the Count!
Stretchered back to the Dressing Room the PROFESSOR was either genuinely Concussed
or just didn't want any more of KENDO NAGASAKI!
So technically he should have Unmasked-he didn't-but he definitely lost his 'Undefeated'
Tag!-KENDO didn't return to MALVERN for 4!!!! Years after this Debacle!

MAIN MASK
A couple of comments here and the first is that I saw The Professor a number of times at Newcastle but I never saw him as a villain; if fact I was quite surprised to see a masked man who wrestled within the rules. Secondly it was widely accepted that the man under the mask was Cyril Morris. I never saw Mr Morris wrestle without the mask but the lady who sat behind me had The Professor pegged as Cyril Morris from the way he stood in the corner in between rounds, a significant stance with all his weight on his forward facing right leg. See Morris’s profile in A-Z for more details.
Interesting to see that one of the bouts was against Reg Williams as I saw that match up at St James and Williams accepted his defeat with the most ill grace I have possibly ever seen by a wrestler, an action that endeared Williams to me from that day onwards.
