He was very popular and competent but he certainly failed to excite me. Do you remember what names he used in the mask bkendo1?
Great wrestler and a good friend years ago. He was fast, acrobatic and well versed in Lancshire style wrestling, I wrestled him quite a few times fo various promoters including Brian, Dixon, Jack Atherton and Wrytons. A very good wrestler and a good mate. Eddie Rose
He did one show for me in April 1976 when I matched him with Lord Bertie Topham at The Parr Hall in Warrington. I recall him having some very good bouts for Brian Dixon and one that stands out was an extremely fast-paced contest with Monty Swann at The Granby Halls, Leicester, in a show at which Dixon threw the kitchen sink. His top was Ricki Starr versus Kendo Nagasaki and supporting wrestlers included Abe Ginsberg, Bobby Barron, Gordon Corbett, Giant Haystacks (then Haystacks Galhoan) and Wildman of Borneo.
I also recall Dixon matching him with Steve Young, Majid Ackra, Harry Palin and Al Miquet. I MC'd him for my then friend Stuart Miller who matched him against Abe Ginsberg at The Borough Hall, Stafford, and Steve Haggetty at The Civic Hall, Nantwich. And I recall Martin Conroy using him as a one-off against Ray Steele at The Stamford Hall, Altrincham.
He and Terry Downs were excellent wrestlers who disappeared by the 1970s whilst lesser talents continued repeating clapped out rountines as crowds diminished
It's strange how I am struggling to remember him. Looking through old reports he partnered Johnny Eagles and Iron Fist Myers and Hamill and am sure I saw him a few times but nothing sticks out. He fought all the best although I supose you all did. here is a nostalgic bill with you and him.
