I do like this poster Main Mask as a demonstration of what the opposition could do well. It's colourful, attractive and, to me anyway, would appeal to fans. But just who on this bill, other than ardent independent fans, would anyone have known? Killer Ken Davies possibly, but he was usually in a support role. Hamid Ali Gil I watched and enjoyed, but definitely a supporting role. These are the main eventers. This promoter knew how to spare his cash. A golden boy who wasn't the golden boy. A prince who was a scrap meteal merchant. A red Indian from Yorkshire. A Frenchman I don't know but most likely knew his way around Leicestershire. Dave Kaye an honest Yorkshireman. George Burgess, a man we know now, but how many would have known him at this time working for the independents.
Yes, I would happily have paid my ten bob for this and complained at a tanner for the programme.
But it makes me cringe to see three matches advertised as Black v White contests. I know it was common at the time, but three on one bill.
When I watched Hamid Ali Gil I was impressed, but read comments of a wrestling colleague of his who was much less so. Killer Ken Davies is one I would have liked to see. Remember what must have been about fifteen years ago we got into a right tangle getting Killer Ken mixed up with Gwyn's dad. Gwyn's daughter came on to put us right. So we've learnt something. Nice to see the Coventry scrap man Prince Barnu. The two Golden Boys are obviously not the same man. Chief Little Wolf most probably a native of Yorkshire, seemed to work for Ron Farrar. I'd like to know more about him and Marcel Rondeaux. Was he another created at Jack Taylor's kitchen table?

What fabulous posters. Thanks for sharing, MM. (I fear, though, the Chick Rolfe here is Chick Rolfe II from Cambridgeshire at the start of his career rather than the original tearaway. Here appeared on a lot of IP bills with Kib White aka Terry Goodrum). What a collection you must have. Thanks again.

If Sue Brittain is headlining then I would assume it would be an Ace Promotions bill?
Great opening poster Main Mask.
