On another thread recently it was agreed that in Morecambe in July with the late sunsets, a venue easily accessible to visitors and pubs closing before midnight that an event at midnight would have a certain amount of appeal.
Every year in the States during Wrestlemania week Indy Promoters hold midnight events that are choc a block. As with Morecambe in the 1960s greatly helped by large numbers of visitors and accessible venues
There was a short period around 2014 - 2016 when wrestling did take place again in Morecambe Winter Gardens. This was promoted (under the names Paid Promotions and Alpha Omega Wrestling) by Greg Lambert, local journalist, wrestling MC/Commentator and author. The word I heard was that the cost of using in the building was too high for them and they switched venues to the Carleton Inn. I thoroughly enjoyed attending wrestling for a short time in such a historic building even though it was still at the early stages of restoration.

Glad you enjoyed Los Angeles, Peter.
Just wondering what sort of punter and in what numbers would be wanting to go wrestling at midnight?
I saw Billy two rivers wrestling there in the early 60s
I remember adverts for midnight wrestling in Morecambe. They are mentioned in this article.
