Thanks Hack, much appreciated. As an aside, apart from the fact Morecambe attracted top wrestlers from both Joint and the independents it was also host to the top pop groups and entertainers of the day, as will be observed from the accompanying notices to the wrestling bills. (The Searchers, Billy J Kramer & The Dakotas, Acker Bilk et al)
The Floral Hall was a class venue and in 1965 I saw and enjoyed Unit 4 + 2, Lulu, Manfred Mann and many others. One Friday in March1964 at the Central Pier the main act was Deke Arlen & The Offbeats (anyone remember them?) Well, that night a 16 year old contemporary of mine was ejected from the pier in a drunken state. It is therefore highly likely one of the doormen doing the ejecting would have been our old friend Gerry Hoggarth, who in those days worked weekends at the Pier!
A drop in the ocean says William. It's a big ocean and these are big drops. Thanks William you're doing a grand job.
Even as early as 1963 a tag team of Robinson and Howes would be appealing.
In 1963 Kidd had returned from the independents but still playing second fiddle to the heavies. Jack Pye ruling the roost. Kidds tenure as a main Eventer was short.
We have a Joint White Angel in November. Over a year after being unmasked in Leeds.
It's hard work collecting those William. Nice clear clips though and well worth it. Thanks.
