McManus and Logan?
Royal bros (who were different heights and didn't even remotely look like each other)
Hells Angels?
Daddy and Haystacks?
Caribbean sunshine boys?
Or someone else maybe ...
And how about the tag team that never was?
Nagasaki and Kung Fu? (wasn't this supposed to happen at one time?)
Rocco and Finley?
Kellet and Catweazle (and why not?)
O.K Its sunday night and I'm bored!
When I saw Finlay & Skull they were billed as The Riot Squad.
Seeing Ron's today, another tag team springs to mind: the Martinis. Buster and Keith. A great team name and what rough-houses.
Their match is against The Saints, and, as we described on this site in Perfect Asymmetry, Tony & Roy absolutely perfected the art of blue eyes against outrageous villains. All their bouts were great - against the Martinis it must have been mayhem.
I always really enjoyed Buster Martin.
Under the heading of "Tag team that never was", I've previously opined that Rollerball and Skull could have been "marketed" as The New Riot Squad, being the sons of one team which used that name.
Has to be Hells Angels from the times I went.
But loved a good rough match with Dennisons or Dangermen or Black Diamonds.
Royals also , but it was a bit scripted that they would be getting beat up ready for the comeback.
I always thought young wrestlers like Rocco or Dynamite , Finlay , Jones were wasted in tag.
Probably better as they got older. But I am talking 1970's.
Did not get much out of heavyweights tagging.
Some great suggestions in both posts. Don't think I could ever call The Hells Angels or Rocco and Finley boring Hack, But I'll give you the Royal bros, their tired old act and huge egos would always send me to sleep! Caribbean sunshine boys could always bring the house down too. infact I seem to remember them getting into trouble and even making the national papers once or twice.
Nice thought, Frank, and ten mouth-watering suggestions already.
Your key word is "entertaining" - so what about Critchley & Kellett? One sole tv outing.
The Wild Man of Borneo & The Society Boy - based soley on the famous photo. Appetizing.
Who remembers the original Dennisons as being so controversial with their leather wristbands ... a leaf out of the book of....
.... The Black Diamonds, who worked their gimmick and roughed things up.
In more recent times, I did think Skull Murphy & Dave Finlay were great, and the squaw manager just added to the cocktail.
No wonder you're bored with those teams Frank.
What about
Dominic and Case Pye?
Angus and Jock Campbell?
The Monster and The Ghoul?
The Undertakers?
The Klondyke brothers?
