I was intrigued to find that in the 1960s wrestling in Banbury was presented by Dale Martin in conjunction with Mrs Usher.

Who was Mrs Usher?

Turns out Ethel Usher was a big name in Banbury and manager of the Winter Gardens.

Be fair Anglo Italian, I'm sure you've often mixed up Highbury and Banbury. Such an easy mistake to make. And any promoter claiming Pallo as a local boy deserves respect. I wonder what was said of Billy Two Rivers?

It was a long tenure with Ethel Usher selling the Winter Gardens in 1983 for a reported £600.000
