Another new galley for anyone interested. the collection continues to grow and more and more corners of the country are now cropping up.
You won't find Joint here , there are a few good bills and one or two shockers.
This one , if you read it carefully is scandalous. Is the promoter a disgrace or just an opportunist.
Quite right Peter, it really is appalling. We often read comments demonising the independent promoters. As an indies fan these criticisms are often generalisations that are unfair on the many genuine promoters. But there really is no excuse for this sort of thing. I recently saw a poster for midget "Tricky Frikki Starr" alongside a photo of Ricky Starr.
If you've not read Martin Campbell's The Winchester Chronicles I do recommend it. For those with little knowledge or interest in the independents the series does show why the genuine, hard working, reliable independents (often fighting against the odds) earned admiration and respect from their followers.
Rather than promote Professional Wrestling this sort of thing demoted it
McManus was in Reading Street was at Hemel Hempstead Wall was billed in Aberdeen Davies I couldn't find
By my reckoning
Alpago would turn up. Unfortunately born in Two Rivers and not son of Billy as we may foolishly have thought.
Al Martinelli would be there if he was in when he got the phóne call.
Klondyke Jake was there because someone decent needed to be there
Doctor Death. was there because someone pulled on a mask
The rest were working elsewhere or watching the television.
Orig was notorious for his fake Bills.I believe he was "paid a visit" to encourage him to change his ways
Certainly looks like Origs prints are on this with use of B W F in the seventies.
Of course they were invited Anglo Italian. No reply was expected or received.
Diabolical. This sort of thing did as much to destroy wrestling as anything we saw on tv.
Here's one I have from 1959. I look forward to going through your gallery Ron.
Hi Ron. Joint di a few bills from the Gwynn Hall Neath very early 1960s. I have a few on file.
Regards & keep up your great work.
That bill above is fraud: I bet they never ever invited McManus to appear.
Got to laugh on Number 17 that the "Match of the Century - loser to unmask" match is a supporting bout.
Surprising to see Mancelli, Czeslaw and Churchill dabbling in the mid-sixties.
Haystacks Galhoan! Also includes possible the first ever tag matching of Haystacks with Nagasaki.
In great fairness, and bucking the trend of things deteriorating down the years, there are distinct signs through the seventies of Pallo getting his act together and the latest bill included is the best of all with lots of quality names. Some of the 1962 promoting is dire.
can this possibly be Orig ? Perish the thought
