Nice and simple to look at four bills from the mid 1960's. The Pavilion , I believe was a 1915 cinema with 800 seats , eventually became a Bingo Hall. Often the way in the 1960's that Cinema's were coming out that were wider with bigger screens and the old and tired were retired. Some small promoters grabbed these for a few months to do a few shows. Money coming in , rather than being left empty. Very common round Manchester.
The promoter , well I need help on that one.
Very early Pat Roach , the usual StJohn Svajick combo , who is six ten Ski Hi Walters. Pre Joint Johnny Saint , Copycat masked men , early ladies , Orig , Corbett , O'Shea , who was promoting.

I always believed that boxer Marcel Cerdan, didn’t die in a plane crash and that was just a ruse, so’s he could eat his way out of the middleweight division and eventually reappear as a 28 stone heavyweight wrestler in Dalkeith years later. Wrestling research throws up so many wonderous stories!
The Mighty Chane. Independant copying an independant!
Ski High Walters really is intriguing: probably no-showed!
Thanks for sharing, so much to dissect.
The lack of local wrestlers makes me think this was not a local promoter. More likely one of the English promoters.
No proof but I think we may have answered Ron's question about Continental Matchmakers. I found Continental Matchmakers promoting all over the Britain and Ireland ... Barnoldswick, Bodmin, Chester, Coventry, Derry, Downham Market, Dublin, Dunfermline, Frodsham, Galway, Inverness, Maesteg, Matlock, Nantwich, Stonehaven, Wilmslow,
Many of the bills are very similar to the ones in Dalkeith, regulars Williams, O'Shea, Saint, Flynn, St John, Swasjics, Klondyke....
Makes me believe that the Scottish Continental Matchmakers is the same set up as the Scottish one.
Then I found the address of Continental Matchmakers. 29 Talbot Road is a six bedroom terraced house in Fallowfield.Made me think it could be Sean O'Shea. I couldn't find who was living at that address in 1966, can you Ron? I would put half a crown on it being a Jack Jefferson (Shaun O'Shea)
Then I came across a report from the Irish Times, 26th October, 1965. The report stated that Continental Matchakers of Manchester were planning to sue Cork Council because they had banned a ladies match. The spokesman for Continental Matchmakers was Orig Williams.
Now I'm not aware of Orig living in Manchester. So possibly an O'Shea/Williams collaboration, or an O'Shea business with Orig working for him.
Or maybe this is the wrong tree.
These bills have many Cape Promotions wrestlers, could it be Danny or Fred working with someone locally?
