Luther Lindsay made only a short visit to the UK in 1961. Opponents included only the best: Norman Walsh, Geoff Portz, Bill Robinson, Gwyn Davies, Albert Wall,Tibor Szakacs, Josef Zaranoff and Mike Marino. He knocked out Zaranoff on tv and on this day knocked out Mike Marino at the Royal Albert Hall.
Now here's something to think about. The 1979 ITV strike lasted eleven weeks. Following a stretch off air ITV companies began limited transmission of old programmes. Amongst the wrestling programmes broadcast was Lindsay v Zaranoff from 1961. So maybe that one still exists.
Ongoing sore point that ITV will not release the old black and white matches

15th Nov 1947.I have to query your comment.
As I understand it Dave Armstrong did not beat Sandy Orford , so strictly he didn't unmask him.
Wasn't it a voluntary act?

The Black Angel was unmasked by Dave Armstrong. It was Sandy Orford.
