1976, a time when many fans were starting to turn away, and this poster displays one of the reasons.
Why on earth would we expect to see a large photo, or even a small one of the referee. Can't imagine Joe D'Orazio, Tiny Carr or Lou Marco wanting to be more prominent than the wrestlers. and just who was he popular with?

The 1961 independent bill could easily have been a Dale Martin show a few years later. We haven't heard anything of Leon Fortuna for years.
A good bill spoilt by a poster where an excuse for a referee gets prominence, I reckon the 'ever popular' referee could have met all his fans in a phone box. I don't know a fan who liked him, he was an unwelcome distraction in the ring.
Crabtree was popular with Big Brother Max.Everyone I knew disliked the little egotist
