On this day in 1932 Douglas Clark promoted the first All In wrestling show at Brunswick Stadium, Leeds. This was not the city's first experience of wrestling as the sport had been promoted at the Elland Road Greyhound track in 1931.
Today is also the anniversary of the death of Jake Dutch Zorra in 2010.
Must have been an early Christmas present to Johnny !
Oh no! Bernard look away!
1964:
From PWInsider.com:
1968 - Billy Robinson defeats Toyonobori in Okiyama, Japan to win the first IWE (International Pro Wrestling) World Series tournament, and become the first IWE World Heavyweight Champion.
1979 - Wayne Bridges defeats Spiros Arion for the United Kingdom World Heavyweight Title in London, England.
That's certainly a strange tag match Main Mask. Must have been an easy night for Billy Two Rivers, spent most of it handing around while Ricky did all his pratting about.
The last show of 1968 at the Palais!!
