Fascinating contest between Charlie Fisher and Frank Hurley as both wrestlers are highlighted as "heels. Fisher could alternate between "blue eye" and "heel" while "Fearsome" Frank Hurley always played the bad guy when I saw him. As far as weight is concerned I doubt if there was much between them. Hurley rarely won so I suppose Charlie Fisher would have won the contest.
I don't recall seeing Charlie Fisher wrestle, and if I saw Hurley it would only be on TV mid sixties. But I would not have imagined this as a credible matching with Hurley being much the lighter of the two
One of those peculiar six man knock outs that I can't get my head round, one finalist fighting three times and the other twice. What's the point? Make it a good 4 or 8 man KO.
Working overseas today, Black Butcher Johnson beat local lad, Marco, and Jack Dale lost his European Middleweight Title to Jose Tarres in Barcelona, Spain, on this day in 1958.
